So you're considering taking golf lessons..

You've been thinking about it for a long time. Your golf game isn't getting any better so you've finally decided to take some lessons.  In my opinion almost all players would benefit from lessons. Before doing so here are some words of wisdom I would like to share with you.

Never agree to and pay for a series of lessons (typically 10 or more) before you've worked with an instructor.

If you don't know any instructors in your area ask for referrals from friends and associates.

Ask a potential teacher if you can sit down and talk with him or her prior to agreeing to a lesson. During this time you will get a sense of whether you are comfortable with their personality and demeanor. Ask if they teach players of all skill levels, and to describe their plan to help you reach your specific goals.

Do your due diligence when choosing an instructor. Google their name, talk to people who have taken lessons from them. Find out how many years they have been teaching. Are they a PGA Professional?

Once you have decided on an instructor make an appointment for one lesson. If the first lesson goes well that's great. You may decide to continue with more lessons. If not you're not out a bunch of money. Golf instructors are no different than plumbers, doctors and mechanics. Some are really good and some are not so good.

Golf Rx bucks the trend in the golf equipment industry

It is true there has been a lot of gloom and doom and in the golf equipment industry lately. Here are some examples:

  Golfsmith recently filed for bankruptcy

Nike has decided to get out of the golf club business

Mitchell Golf is looking for a buyer

Dick's Sporting Goods fired over 500 PGA Professionals to cut expenses.

Adidas is selling off Taylor Made because of declining sales

PGA Magazine states through August of 2016 iron sales are down 13% and woods sales are down
30% at off course golf shops.

Then there is Golf Rx...

Since 2010 our golf equipment sales have increased every year, and 2016 looks to be our best year ever. Our success is due to the support and loyalty of our customers and their referrals. A big "Thank You" to all our customers and we look forward to seeing each of you soon.
